Westcave Cellars Winery is featured in Art on Wine’s blog post: “Texas Hill Country Dripping With Taste”
“The recent Dripping Springs Wine and Food Fest, cleverly called Dripping With Taste, was a real eye opener for me. Not only was the event so popular that it was sold out by 4 o’clock, but the quality of wines served are raising the bar for Texas wines. Twenty two wineries showed up from the local area. There weren’t even any wineries from the Texas-famed Lubbock region! Holy cow! When did all of these wineries pop up around here? Messina Hof, Becker and Flat Creek of course had presence there, but here are some not so well-known wineries that I found had great wines and interesting labels, of course.”
“I was arrested for trespassing many years ago at Westcave Preserve when it was still private property. It was and still is one of the most beautiful places in the Hill Country. Now you can take tours of the Preserve legally and stop in at Westcave Cellars to enjoy a glass of wine on the same road. Their labels pay homage to the cave with watercolor artworks commissioned locally. The Merlot was my favorite, bold with a rich color and nice earthly fragrance.”
